Cleaning pro shares easy Aldi hack to get taps sparkling - and it costs just 32p

A cleaning expert has shared a clever hack for removing stains on your kitchen and bathroom taps that requires minimal effort.

Carolina McCauley shared the tip to her Home Hacks TikTok page , where more than 2.5 million people follow her advice to “clean smarter, not harder”. To try out the quick and easy method, you need only a bottle of vinegar and an old cloth.

The hack involves soaking the cloth in vinegar and wrapping it around the taps before leaving it for up to 10 minutes. After removing the cloth and giving the taps a quick wipe down, the method promises to remove any stains caused by build-up of residue or limescale.

The low-effort hack is a great way to save money by avoiding overpriced cleaning products that claim to do the same job, the Mirror reports . A bottle of distilled vinegar can be bought for as little as 32p from Aldi.

The TikTok star shared that vinegar has many other uses around the home when it comes to making light work of cleaning. The same video advised to mix vinegar 50/50 with dish soap into a spray bottle to effectively clean shower screens.

Caroline also demonstrated that adding 50% water to a vinegar solution makes for a window cleaner that won’t leave streaks. The cleaning pro shared that she additionally uses vinegar in her washing machine and dishwasher to leave them looking brand new.

Vinegar is a popular choice when it comes to tackling blocked drains at home too. White vinegar can be used along with baking soda to clear blockages, and is hailed as one of the best cost-effective solutions to sort out your drain according to cleaning experts .
