CHARLOTTE, N.C. — America’s Game is coming soon to a venue near you — and it’s bringing some familiar faces along with it.
“Wheel of Fortune LIVE!” will make more than 60 stops on an upcoming tour this fall, bringing “an all-new theatrical experience” and live-stage version of the popular TV game show to local theaters and venues across the U.S.
The tour announced Monday that the production will feature “American Idol” star Clay Aiken and Mark L. Walberg, longtime host of PBS’ “Antiques Roadshow” as rotating hosts throughout the tour.
“Being able to host ‘Wheel of Fortune’ on tour is such an honor and I can’t wait to watch so many people win!” Aiken said in the tour announcement.
While the tour will include a few North Carolina stops, Aiken, a native of the state, won’t be hosting those. The tour announcement shows that Aiken will pick up hosting duties about midway through the tour, after the North Carolina stops.
What does the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ tour include?
The tour announcement described “Wheel of Fortune LIVE!” as an “all-new theatrical experience” that “is the one-and-only way fans can experience America’s Game in person outside of Sony Pictures Studios.” The show is produced in partnership with Sony Pictures Television.
During each tour stop, attendees will have the opportunity to “audition to go on stage and feel like they stepped into the game show itself.”
Participants “will have the chance to spin a replica of the iconic Wheel and solve the puzzles on the tour’s puzzle-board” to win prizes such as $10,000, trips to Paris and Hawaii and more. Audience members may also be randomly selected to win cash and other prizes.
“Wheel of Fortune LIVE!” is a touring production and is not filmed for broadcast as part of the “Wheel of Fortune” show.
Mark L. Walberg will host the North Carolina dates of the tour, as well as stops in Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York and other states.
The tour will also include actress Kalpana Pot as a co-host, plus Los Angeles Dodgers stadium host and long-time radio personality Dave Styles as the show’s announcer.
Clay Aiken will host several other dates of the tour, with stops throughout New York, California, Arizona, Ohio and more.
Aiken will pick up hosting duties in mid-October and host through November, when Walberg will begin hosting again for the remainder of the tour.
