England cruised into the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar on Sunday evening with a comfortable 3-0 win over Senegal, setting up a mouthwatering tie with current holders France this coming Saturday.
After a slow start to the contest, the Three Lions, who reached the semi-finals of the competition four years ago, found the breakthrough through Jordan Henderson. The Liverpool captain's cool finish provided the platform and energy England needed to increase their lead via goals from Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka either side of the half-time break.
After Saka had made it 3-0 just 12 minutes into the second half, England coasted their way to a third win and third clean sheet of the tournament, booking a date with France for a place in the last four. Although the Three Lions started slowly against the current African champions, they did not have to get out of second gear to get the job done.
