Class 12 student held for objectionable post against Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath

KANPUR: A Class 12 student was held for posting an objectionable Facebook post against Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath in Kannauj district on Monday.

The accused had drawn something objectionable on the CM’s photo and posted it on Facebook.

The incident came to light after some locals made a complaint to the director general of police regarding it on Twitter.

Additional superintendent of police Arvind Kumar said that the accused, a resident of Murhiya village under Talgram police station of the district, studies in class 12.

Senior district officials, including district magistrate Rakesh Kumar Mishra and superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, rushed to the Talgram police station and questioned the student, besides enquiring police station incharge Harishyam Singh about the incident.

"We have confiscated the accused’s mobile phone and are investigating his other posts," said the ASP.
