Clarkson’s Farm announces third series despite the second still not having a release date

The hit series Clarkson's Farm, which unexpectedly captured the hearts of the nation when it first aired on Amazon Prime in June 2021, is returning for a third series, it has been revealed - and filming for it has already begun. The show is a hilarious and heartwarming documentary that follows the former Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson as he attempts to run the farm - and farm shop - named Diddly Squat, in the Oxfordshire countryside with his trusty farmhands Kaleb, Gerald and Charlie by his side as well as his partner Lisa.

In series one, with no previous farming experience, viewers watched as the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host contended with some of the worst farming conditions in decades alongside a global pandemic.

While this reveal of its brand new series is great news for fans of the show all over, it may come as a shock to many who are still waiting for the exact release date of the show's second season - filming for which finished in mid-July 2022.

As reported by The Sun, Jeremy said of the news: "I’m genuinely thrilled that we are doing a third season of Clarkson’s Farm. I’ve had some great new ideas, all of which have made Charlie, Lisa and Kaleb deeply unhappy."

This jubilation was echoed by show favourite, Kaleb Cooper, who is often exacerbated by Jeremy's farming ability, as he said: "I’m over the moon to be taking part again. Well, they do say third time’s a charm! Maybe this will be the series that Jeremy finally starts taking advice from a real farmer!"

In a teaser, Jeremy recently spoke of when viewers could expect season two be be released on the video streaming platform. Responding to a fan who asked when the second series would be out on a recent Instagram post of Jeremy's - a photo of the ponds he created in the first series - he advised it would be out in "early" 2023, writing: "Filming ends in mid July. So it should be edited and ready to go early in the new year." - much to the dismay of keen Clarkson Farm fans.

One said: "That's ages Jeremy, have a word please", while another added: "So long to wait I thought it was due out soon, there is so much s**t on TV lately I need something good to watch, please hurry!"

Series two of Clarkson's Farm will continue to follow Jeremy on his farming adventures as he attempts to keep Diddly Squat running successfully.

In 2021 after the first series Clarkson's farm hit the headlines when it was vandalised. This later turned out to be a practical joke pulled on Jeremy by TV hosts Ant and Dec for their show Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. It also made waves when Jeremy Clarkson's desire to extend the farm in early 2022 was refused.

Clarkson's Farm is set to return to Amazon Prime for its second series in 2023.
