Joe Ulloa, managing director for the UK, Ireland and MEA (the Middle East and Africa) at Clarks has stepped down from the role.
Mr Ulloa joined the shoe retailer in 2017 as retail and franchise director of the UK and Europe. He later became managing director of the UK and Ireland in 2019 and in 2021 added MEA to his remit.
Before joining the Somerset-headquartered company Mr Ulloa previously held roles including operations and business development director at Halfords, and general manager at L'Occitane Group. He is currently a board advisor for Berkshire-based company, Each Person, which helps businesses fulfil commitments to people and the planet.
Jonathan Ram, who was appointed chief executive at Clarks last March, will head up the UK and Ireland's team until a successor is found.
A Clarks spokesperson said: "Clarks can confirm that after a successful period with the business, Joe Ulloa has stepped down from his role as managing director for the UK, ROI & MEA and has left Clarks. CEO Jon Ram is leading the UK&ROI team in the interim period as Clarks recruits Joe’s replacement."
At the end of last the year 197-year-old firm, which is headquartered in Street in Somerset, reported a huge swing back to profit as stores reopened after Covid-19 restrictions eased.
