Clare v Waterford date, throw-in time, TV and stream information, team news, betting odds and more

Clare host Waterford this weekend in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship this weekend with their eyes firmly fixed on a provincial final date with Limerick in a few weeks time.

All the pressure is on Waterford heading into this game. Despite romping to victory in the Allianz League and kicking off the championship with a win against Tipperary, The Déise somehow find themselves in a position where they need other teams to do them a favour if they are to progress to the All Ireland series.

Neither side have announced their team yet. However, it is expected that Clare will rest some key men.

Here's everything you need to know about the game:

Quotes Corner

Davy Fitzgerald on Waterford's season so far:

"Waterford have effectively collapsed and they’re in deep trouble now.

"They still have a chance of progressing to the knockout stages but I don’t think they will as I expect Cork to beat Tipperary.

"I couldn’t believe how much Cork bossed Sunday’s game at Walsh Park. Waterford looked like they lacked energy and desire to win hard ball which is very unlike them under Liam Cahill.

"I still believe they’re a really good side but, whatever has happened to them, they’ve not been at the races of late. Maybe the League victory has come at a cost as they haven’t been as slick as they were in the latter stages of that competition in the Championship.

"What a result for Cork, though. They tackled like their lives depended on it.

"It’s been a tough few weeks for Kieran Kingston and he made some big calls. He reported an injury for Tim O’Mahony but leaving him out and bringing him on up front worked out brilliantly. As good a ball player as he is, he hasn’t been tight enough in defence.

"Shane Kingston coming in worked well too.

"If Cork keep it tight at the back, push up on the opposition and tackle like they did on Sunday, they’ll have a big say in this Championship yet."

Betting odds
