You might not have envied their marriage, but you’ve probably lusted after their house: the handsome Clapham home of Hannah and Nathan Stern in The Split is up for rent for £30,000 per month.
Located on Macaulay Road in Clapham Old Town, the house plays a starring role in the BBC hit series.
We see the vast the open-plan kitchen and living area used to host parties, terse discussions in the bedroom and shots of the family’s garden, with a goalposts and a trampoline.
It is in this house that the family drama of divorce lawyer Hannah (Nicola Walker) and barrister Nathan (Stephen Mangan) unfolds.

Now four seasons in, The Split first aired in 2018, spawning fans all over the internet for both the show – and the house.
Where did they live? Had the kitchen been renovated? How much is the house worth? Could two lawyers conceivably afford it?
Now, though, some of the mysteries of the Sterns’ house have been revealed.
With seven bedrooms —more than enough for the couple and their three children— the property spans 5,000 square feet of space over four floors.
The high ceilings, bay windows and panelled walls that inspired fans are all still in place, but eagle-eyed viewers will note some subtle changes to Hannah and Nathan’s décor.

There’s a different colour scheme in the kitchen, for example, where the island is white (not black), the cabinetry is cream (not brown) and the curtains pale blue (not yellow).
The vaulted ceiling and wide, floor-to-ceiling doors which lead out onto the garden still remain, thankfully.
All but two of the bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom. The main bedroom also has a generous dressing room, fitted with full-height wardrobes.

Other luxury features include the gym, on the lower ground floor, the wine cellar and the private driveway with space for three cars. The road has private security every night from 7pm to 7am.
According to Land Registry records, the house was purchased for £3.83 million in 2008. It costs upwards of £2,232 to hire per day for filming, as per one location site.
Now, the property has been listed with John D. Wood & Co. for £30,000 per month (£6,923 per week) and is available for short lets, with longer rentals considered.

“This home is a rare gem – an extraordinary find in a market where such expansive properties are seldom available,” says Sinead Conlon at John D. Wood & Co.
“From the showstopping kitchen, featuring a striking triple-height ceiling, to the serene, landscaped garden, every detail has been thoughtfully designed.”
The listing, explains Conlon, is part of the agency’s partnership with Filmfixer, a company that manages film shoots and locations.
“This is an opportunity not just to rent, but to be part of something truly cinematic,” she says. “A perfect conversation starter at any gathering.”
