Claims Leeds United deal is off as rising star commits his future elsewhere

Juventus starlet Samuel Iling-Junior has reportedly rejected the opportunity to join Leeds United in favour of remaining in Italy with the Old Lady. There's been no official word from either club on any sort of proposed deal, just a rumour of Leeds' interest, so news that interest has ended will not come as too big a blow to most.

Iling-Junior was heading into the final six months of his deal, with the England youth international's contract set to expire next summer. Football Insider report Iling-Junior has decided to put pen to a new long-term contract with Juventus until 2027, rejecting Leeds' advances in the process.

The Whites, along with Aston Villa, were said to have been interested in landing the 19-year-old winger who has broken into the Juventus first team this season. Alongside the interest from Leeds and Villa, Manchester City and Southampton were also rumoured to be keen on Iling Junior too.

The teenager has made both his Serie A and Champions League debut's this year for Max Allegri's side, featuring against Empoli and Benfica, the latter of which he bagged an assist in.

After impressive performances in limited minutes, Iling-Junior looks to be a serious prospect.

Leeds have certainly made no secret when it comes to what their transfer strategy is at the moment, with the club aiming to sign high ceiling youngsters who could go on to be elite players.

Jesse Marsch's squad boast an immense amount of young talent, which Iling-Junior would have almost certainly enhanced.
