Claims against Qld cop 'unsubstantiated'

The suspension of Queensland Police Assistant Commissioner Brian Codd has been revoked. (AAP)

One of Queensland's highest-ranking police officers will return to the front line after being cleared of claims he failed in his duty.

Assistant Commissioner Brian Codd was suspended after claims he failed to report a domestic violence claim.

The Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Command officer was suspended with full pay in February as the allegations were investigated by the Crime and Corruption Commission.

However, the QPS confirmed on Thursday the claims could not be substantiated and Mr Codd had been cleared to return to work.

"The CCC has informed the QPS the investigation has been finalised and that all matters are unsubstantiated," the QPS said in a statement.

"Arrangements are underway for Assistant Commissioner Codd to return to duty in his role as the Assistant Commissioner of the Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Command."
