A college in Glasgow has been hit by a serious infection as NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) work with Public Health Scotland (PHS) to investigate the outbreak.
Cases of meningococcal disease have been linked to the City of Glasgow College. It's an illness caused by bacteria and is spread through sharing saliva or spit by coughing or kissing.
Symptoms of the condition include fever, chills, fatigue, vomiting and rapid breathing. It's often a severe and deadly illness which can lead to meningitis.

NHSGGC confirmed a 'small number of cases' at the college and say they are working with the educational establishment and PHS to investigate whether any further action needs to be taken.
A spokesperson said: "We are supporting students and staff following a small number of cases of meningococcal disease connected to the City of Glasgow College.
"Appropriate public health measures for these cases and their close contacts have been completed.
"NHSGGC continue to work with the college and Public Health Scotland to investigate if there are any links between these cases and if necessary to implement any additional actions following from those investigations.
"We wish to reassure the college community and the general public that the risk to others remains low."
A college spokesperson said: "We are working closely with Public Health Scotland and NHS GGC following confirmation that there have been a very small number of cases of meningococcal infection connected to the college. Appropriate public health measures for these cases and their close contacts have been completed.
"All information available indicates there is no evidence of any on-site transmission in the college. We wish to reassure the college community and the general public that the risk to others remains low."
