City heartbroken after woman fell from car park and died

Tributes have flooded in for a woman who fell from a multi-storey car park.

Emergency services were called to Heathfield Street at around 6.40am on Wednesday, March 29 following reports of a concern for safety of a woman. Police later confirmed the woman had fallen from the ParkBee car park.

When the ECHO arrived at the scene there were three ambulances, a number of police cars and forensics at the scene. Cordons were also in place on Heathfield Street, Cropper Street and an alleyway off Bold Street.

The woman was taken to hospital and Merseyside Police confirmed the woman died. Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

Following the news, tributes have flooded in for the woman. Messages of support have also been sent by ECHO readers for the woman's family.

Writing on the ECHO's Facebook page Susan Ford said: "So very sad, my condolences to her family and friends. Fly high with the angels. RIP." Steven Shanley added: "Heartbreaking. Condolences to all her family and friends."

Pat Moffitt also said: "Heartbreaking news thoughts are with her family. Tragic." Hayley Wallem: "Oh no this is so heartbreaking, condolences to this girls family, so sorry for your loss, may this lady R.I.P."

Ally Twist said: "My thoughts go out to this poor lady and her loved ones." Darren Wilkes added: "Rest in peace girl fly high in the sky."

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said earlier today: "We can confirm that officers are currently at Heathfield Street in Liverpool city centre this morning, Wednesday 29 March, following the death of a woman. Emergency services were called at around 6.40am to a report that the woman had fallen from a car park.

"North West Ambulance Service took her to hospital where she was sadly pronounced deceased. Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

"The car park is currently closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area. Thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident."
