City gets slight respite but heat wave warning stays

There has been a slight reduction in day temperature in the twin cities with 38.7 degree C recorded on Friday as against 40.8 degree the previous day. But elsewhere across Telangana, temperatures have been hovering with Adilabad recording 42.8 degree C, Medak 41 degree C, Nizamabad 40.9 degree C, Mahabubnagar 40.5 degree C, etc.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reiterated that heat wave conditions will continue to prevail in the districts of Adilabad, Komarum Bheem, Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad and Jagityal for the next couple of days with maximum temperatures likely to hover around 40-43 degree C.

The forecast for Satuday for the capital region is partly cloudy sky maximum temperature is likely to hover around 40 degree C and minimum will be 24 degree. There is chance of thunder and lightning to occur.

Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) has stated in its bulletin that the highest maximum temperature recorded has been 43.8 degree C at Kerameri, Komarum Bheem district. Within the GHMC, the hot spot area has been 40.9 degree C at Allapur Vivekananda Nagar, MedchalMalkajgiri district.

It said mainly dry weather is expected for next few days with maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 39-42 degree C, while the minimum temperatures to be in the range of 22-25 degree C.

Within the GHMC area, the maximum temperatures are expected to be in the range of 38-40 degree C, while the minimum temperatures to be in the range of 23-25 degree C.
