City centre fave Tampopo is doing brunch for the first time, and it’s half price

Tampopo will be doing a brand new South-East Asian inspired brunch for the first time, starting next week. And it will be trialling it for half price until the end of June.

From Monday (May 22), the popular restaurant - with branches in the Corn Exchange, Albert Square and the Trafford Centre - will be opening its doors from 10.30am. Dishes will span cuisines across the Far East.

Its new breakfast will feature Crispy bacon slices and butterfly sausages with grilled mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and edamame, all served with a large corn fritter and a Thai-style fried egg.

There’s also an authentic Korean kimchi fried rice; rice with homemade kimchi, Korean red pepper chilli paste, spring onion and toasted sesame seeds, served with a crispy fried egg, and the ’Asian Fried Clucker’, a sausage and bacon roti, or a crispy avocado stack.

There are six new brunch dishes in all, with five new side dishes to go along with them. Meanwhile, for those with a sweet tooth, there’s a dish of smoky charred pineapple stacked up with roti breads and served with sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk and cinnamon ice-cream.

Brunch cocktails will include the new Lychee Blossom - gin, prosecco, lemon, fresh elderflower and lychee - and the Bangkok Margarita.

Founder David Fox said: “We are thrilled to be extending our opening hours to serve the people of Manchester for longer and to launch this exciting new menu. We are incredibly proud of our 25-year heritage in Manchester.

“During this time, we’ve built wonderful relationships with people in Manchester and across the Far East. We think these elements come together to offer something really special to our customers, and we can’t wait to share this new brunch and cocktail menu with our friends and customers in Manchester.”

Tables booked before 12pm will get brunch half price until the end of June.
