A city centre bar based on one of Liverpool's most loved streets has left people "gutted" after it announced its closure.
Abditory bar, based on Queen Avenue off Castle Street, opened in November 2019 but took to Instagram last week to confirm it would be closing. Its team confirmed the last few years had been "tough".
The bar was operated by Camp and Furnace co-founder Steven Burgess and Josh Moore who, back in 2019, spoke of their long term vision for the venue to "become a well loved contribution to the city's growing collection of amazing spaces."

In statement shared to Instagram on Thursday, May 11, its team said: "We opened in November 2019, a few months before all the pandemic and lockdown hit us. The last few years have been tough, everyone felt it and the ripples are still going on for many businesses.
"We have decided it is time for us to move on as a business, we have other venues in the region and want to concentrate on them @bobo_liverpool and welcome the next concept into Queen Avenue.
"The venue is up for sale and details can be found on Rightmove. Queen Avenue has been a spectacular venue for our little cocktail bar and we have enjoyed every minute of it."
Responding to the news, Abidtory's followers left messages of support for the team as well as sharing their sadness. One user said: "Gutted by this news, love this place. Good luck for the future"
Another said: "Aww so sad to hear this, brilliant bar all round. Tell everyone I know who hasn't been to go. A night in town is not going to be the same."
A third added: "Gutted to hear this, thanks for all the great nights. Hope all the staff get fixed up elsewhere."
And, a fourth said: "Such a loss for the area that lacks a speak-easy late night bar"
The team's other venue Bobo, based on Castle Street, remains open with their focus now being on this.
