A HUGELY popular city cafe which has been run by the same family for more than 60 years has gone up for sale as the owner's plan to retire.
Corrieri’s Cafe, located in Stirling on Alloa Road in Causewayhead, has been serving customers under the historic shadow of the Wallace Monument since 1963.
The eatery is locally renowned for its traditional Italian ice cream and also offers pizzas, pasta, fish and chips, coffee and an array of other desserts.
Brothers Robert Corrieri, 73, and Peter, 67, have decided to sell the much-loved family-run cafe and are looking for offers over £1.2 million.
Speaking to The Courier Robert said that neither he nor his brother have any heirs or successors to take over the business.
“It is quite emotional because we have been here for over 60 years and my father started here in December 1963,” he said.
“The cafe has enjoyed a pretty stable customer base over the years.
“We’ve attracted customers from the catchment area between Bridge of Allan and the Hillfoots but also some of the smaller holdings towards Kippen.
“We would like to thank all the past and present customers that have visited us.”
