The Citizens Advice Bureau confirmed their official website was down on Tuesday morning after a glitch was reported by the website's users.
Citizens Advice took to social media to confirm that part of their online site was down, but later confirmed that it was back up and running following a 'minor glitch' earlier. They had not confirmed the reasoning behind the fault, however, they have previously stated that they currently face huge demand amid the cost of living and energy crisis.
Pages that list advice on consumer action should they struggle to pay their bills were not loading for several hours this morning, although the main homepage appeared to be working as normal.

The MEN reports that between January and March 2022, Citizens Advice said its consumer service helpline saw more than 70,000 cases related to energy issues - a 63% increase on the same period the previous year. A website crash occurred at a critical time, with Britons reacting with anger to a further blow that BP had reported record energy profits.
The fuel provider said that they had hit $8.45bn (£6.9bn) for the three months to June after oil and gas prices soared. Those who are involved with the group 'Don't Pay UK' are advising many consumers to simply not pay their gas and electricity bills if they can't afford them - but others seek further advice due to individual circumstances.
Previous advice issued from Citizens Advice for those struggling to pay their energy bills has been:
- Agree a payment plan with your supplier.
- Pay off your debt through your benefits.
- Apply for the Fuel Direct scheme.
- Seek extra financial help.
