Cian Healy and Jamison Gibson-Park sign new Leinster contracts

Veteran Cian Healy and current Ireland first choice scrum-half Jamison Gibson-Park have signed new deals with Leinster.

Healy, 34, has been a key member of the Blues' four Champions Cup titles and has played 241 times for the province.

Andrew Porter has taken the Clontarf man's starting place at loosehead for Leinster and Ireland but he provides vital cover for Andy Farrell and Leo Cullen respectively.

Healy is poised to make his 118th Ireland appearance in Sunday's Six Nations clash with Italy.

No duration has been confirmed for Healy's new deal, so it is not known if it covers the World Cup in 18 months time.

It is common practice for Leinster not to reveal the details but Healy did sign a one year deal last year.

Gibson-Park's new deal comes just ahead of his birthday on Wednesday.

While he has often played second fiddle to Luke McGrath with Leinster for the big club matches, the Kiwi has become an important player for Ireland as he sets a fast tempo with his passing game.

Loosehead prop Vakh Abdaladze, who was linked with a move away, has also signed a new deal to remain with the Blues.
