Church damaged in 'inconsiderate and reckless' act

A PAISLEY church has been left damaged in an "inconsiderate and reckless" act.

The incident left the ramp and railings of St Mirin's Cathedral broken.

Reverend Father Ryan Black said the vandalism, which officials noticed last Friday morning, is "upsetting".

In a picture the damage, which left the ramp unusable, can be seen.

The reverend added: "The ramp provides disabled access on one side of the car park and obviously, there is a financial side of thing as well.

"What is most upsetting is that we are hoping and assuming that it was simply an accident.

"We are upset that they didn't report it before driving away."

In a Facebook post, the church said: "Some inconsiderate and reckless person crashed into the railings and destroyed our ramp, but did not report it.

"We would appreciate it if anyone with information would contact us as soon as possible."

Police Scotland will be contacted about the incident.
