'Chuffed' Kevin Bridges confirms he and wife Kerry having baby boy as couple enjoy meal out with friends

Comedy idol Kevin Bridges is expecting a baby BOY in September - and joked that his wee one would have a Sambuca during a meal out with wife Kerry and friends.

The funnyman dined in Cattle & Creel in Helensburgh on Saturday night.

Kevin chose the seafood and steakhouse to eat out on the first weekend of hospitality re-opening fully after lockdown.

And the proud parents-to-be not only revealed the sex of their first baby but that their bundle of joy was due to arrive in September.

The celebrity couple shared the ‘nappy news’ with restaurant owner Milan Nikolic after he congratulated glowing wife Kerry on her baby bump.

Kevin Bridges popped into Cattle & Creel in Helensburgh with his expectant wife Kerry (Cattle & Creel Helensburgh)

Milan shared the news on a post on the restaurant's Facebook page and revealed: "I said congratulations and asked if they knew what they were having. Kevin said a boy. He told me he was due in September. They both looked chuffed to bits.

“I got them a round of drinks on us and pointed to baby bump and asked ‘what’s the wee man having?’ and and Kevin joked ‘A Sambuca.’

“We all had a laugh and they were a great table. To welcome such high profile customers on our first weekend of getting back to normality was really flattering.”

The millionaire couple, who were staying locally, treated two friends to freshly shucked oysters, 30 day dry-aged steaks and cocktails - including a ‘Virgin Mojito’ for pregnant Kerry.

Assistant Manageress Iona Popescu who served them laughed: "Kevin was fighting with the other couple over who would pay the bill and Kevin won.

"He told me everything was perfect which was a lovely compliment for the team.

"The restaurant was fully booked and it was fantastic to see it buzzing again and full of atmosphere.

"The Bridges party being there just added to the excitement and we’d love to have them back again."

Milan and wife Cara, who have twin 13-year-old boys, own three restaurants in Helensburgh including multi-award winning La Barca Tapas and Padrone Pizzeria where Kevin and Kerry have also dined before.

Cara added: "It was nice to see Kevin treating his wife to steak instead of pizza. He knows how to look after her now she’s eating for two!

"They came to Padrone last year and loved our pizza so it was brilliant to see them back in one of our places.

"It was an extremely busy weekend and we could have filled each restaurant three times over.

"Milan took the opportunity to tell them they should try La Barca next so hopefully we’ll welcome them back in Helensburgh very soon."

Kevin, 34, met restauranteur Kerry, 36 when she was running his local bistro in Glasgow’s West End.

The couple, who frequently stay in the area as well as their Glasgow home, tied the knot two years ago and held their reception on nearby Loch Lomond.
