With another bank holiday weekend winding down, we thought it would be the perfect time to announce the results from a recent poll where we asked you to name your favourite pub.
A week ago, we launched a poll asking our readers which North East boozer they thought was best, with 226 responses overall.
The winner had stiff competition from each and every corner of the region, from city centre clubs in the hustle and bustle of Newcastle, to quaint micropubs near the golden sands of Tynemouth.

But when the dust had settled, our readers had a clear winner in mind - with 37 of you telling us that Newcastle's Centurion is the best place to go for a nice cold pint or two. The Central Station pub allows visitors to relax and unwind with a selection of draught favourites and cask ales - while they bask in the beautiful and bolstering history of the city.
It was built in 1893 as a waiting lounge for first-class rail passengers, but 130 years on, it's best described as 'a centrepiece of Newcastle folklore'.
If you're after a refreshing beverage, a bite to eat, or want to cheer on the Toon Army by watching the matches on the built-in 4.5 metre projector, there's something for everyone at the Centurion. Outside of the main bar, the building also plays host to two private lounges.
The Stephenson Lounge has the capacity to seat parties of up to 20, and is fully equipped with 84-inch 4k TV as well as an astonishing private bar - allowing punters to enjoy events of their choice in their own cosy little world. The Ridley Lounge also hosts up to 20 people, offering a similar experience to be enjoyed.
But what are people saying about the pub which is so amazing? We checked Google's reviews page to find out.
Tom Doughty wrote: "Fantastic tiled interior and great atmosphere. If you're waiting for a train its well worth a visit," while another reviewer, added: "Great historic railway bar, stunning, great beer, and good prices, and right on the station for the train home."
Ryan Locke said: "A classy bar situated perfectly in the Train Station, perfect for a drink or two before heading onwards or, perhaps its because of the gorgeous traditional tiled interior that'll give you goosebumps and old-timey feels? In any case, you'll be pleased you dropped by!"
Meanwhile, Jason Nicholl added: "Lovely place plenty of choice, staff are polite and professional, good for watching sports. Excellent location for the train station. Would highly recommend this place."
A stone's throw away, the Crown Posada came in second in the rankings, tied with the stunning Tynemouth Lodge and beloved Town Mouse. It was meanwhile a four-way draw for third position, with the Monkseaton Arms, the Mean Eyed Cat, the Strawberry and Sunderland's Museum Vaults all highly regarded as top taverns.
