Christy Moore is set to play Vicar Street next week-with all proceeds going towards helping those affected by homelessness.
Legendary singer Christy, 78, has always supported charities that people experiencing homelessness and on Monday, July 10 he will perform at Vicar Street with all proceeds from the gig going to Focus Ireland. The charity was founded by Sr. Stan, and for the last 35 years Focus Ireland has helped support thousands affected by homelessness.
Christy Moore is originally from Newbridge in Co Kildare, and he's best known for hit songs 'Ride On', 'The Voyage' and 'Lisdoonvarna' and he's recently released a new song 'The Big Marquee.' Christy is also touring across much of Ireland this summer, as he celebrates over 40 years in the music business.

How to get to Vicar Street
There are plenty of public transport options available if you're heading to Christy Moore's gig at Vicar Street on Monday. Vicar Street is located on Thomas Street in The Liberties, Dublin 8.
Dublin Bus
The main Dublin Bus routes that can get you to Vicar Street include the 13 and the 123 where the venue is less than a minutes walk away.
Luas
The nearest Luas stop to the venue is The Four Courts and then a ten minute walk to Vicar Street.
Car parking
There are several car parks near Vicar Street on Thomas Street that you can park your car in on the night. These include;
- Thomas Street €6 for 2 hours with 178 spaces (5mins from Vicar Street)
- Christchurch multi-storey car park €9.20 for 2 hours with 213 spaces (13mins from Vicar Street)
- Four Courts carpark €7.40 for 2 hours with 385 spaces (7mins from Vicar Street)
- Smithfield Market €7.20 for 2 hours with 350 spaces (19mins from Vicar Street)
Tickets
Tickets for Christy Moore's gig at Vicar Street on Monday, 10 July seem to be sold out after costing €50 per person and latest information suggests it is a 'House Full.' But resale tickets may also pop up on Ticketmaster between now and the night of the gig, so it's worth keeping an eye out by checking Ticketmaster.
Doors open and stage times
Doors open at 8pm on Monday 10 July for Christy Moore's gig at Vicar Street. It's expected that Christy himself could appear on stage at around 8:15pm.
