Christy Dignam has thanked the public for their support since it was revealed he was receiving palliative care at his Dublin home.
The Aslan star's family family made the shock announcement earlier this week. The 62-year-old Finglas native has been battling a rare blood disease known as known as amyloidosis since 2013.
Christy's daughter Kiera shared a message of thanks to the public on behalf of her dad on social media today: "My Dad just asked me to thank everyone for their support, well wishes and kind words over the last couple of days," she wrote.

"It has been and will be tough but it’s really given him a boost so thank you all."
In September, the band rescheduled their 40th anniversary tour 3Arena date for St Patrick's weekend after the frontman became ill. Aslan released a statement following the Dignam family's announcement that said they were "devastated" but added that "Christy will always keep up his fight and never gives up".
The band have cancelled all future gigs as "with Christy receiving palliative treatment, performing will not be possible".
