Aslan frontman Christy Dignam has said he has "no regrets" about Aslan as he receives palliative care at his Dublin home.
The band famously broke up in 1988 just before they were about to record their second album. Despite the band suffering from "bad management", Christy said he had a "brilliant" life with the group.
The Crazy World singer also revealed the happiest moment of his life was when his daughter Ciara was born in a wide-ranging interview with RTE star Ryan Tubridy.

He said: "For the last two or three years it wasn't going right with Aslan. We were turning into a band that I didn't want to be.
"That's why I ended up doing the solo album because I think some of the lads were happy enough to plod along and keep doing Crazy World kind of thing.
"I wasn't really getting anything out of that anymore. The band were kind of drifting apart and I noticed some of the crew were starting to leave and stuff like that.
"I always felt one of the things that held Aslan back was bad management. We never really got someone that was a good manager."
He added that new bands these days, such as Wild Youth, have a "hierarchy" that has been built up. Christy said: "When we were coming up there was none of that.
"There was nobody there before us to kind of advise us". When asked if he had any regrets with the band, Christy said: "No, I had a brilliant life with them.
"When it was good, it was absolutely amazing".
