Supermarkets across Ireland will be busy next week as shoppers stock up ahead of Christmas.
With the big day just a week away, even the most organised households might need to nip to the shops to pick up some last-minute supplies.
But shops have issued a warning to customers not to leave it too late, as many have altered their opening hours.

Some will be opening later than usual over the coming days, but closing early on Christmas Eve.
Most will be shut on December 25, with some also opting to also close on St Stephen’s Day.

Dunnes
Dunnes is a favourite for Christmas essentials and will open later during Christmas week, with some stores extending their operating hours until 2am.
The exact opening hours will depend on your location, for example their Blanchardstown store will open until midnight on the 19th and 20th, and until 2am on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd.
All of their stores will close nationwide on both Christmas Day and St Stephen's Day. Find your local store’s opening hours here.
Tesco
Tesco has confirmed they will extend their opening hours during the festive season.
All stores will open at 7am during Christmas week, with opening hours extended until 1am in selected larger stores.
On Christmas Eve, they will open early at 6am and also close early at 7pm.
Tesco stores will close for Christmas Day but reopen on the 26th from 10am until 8pm.

Aldi
Aldi stores nationwide will be closed Christmas Day, St Stephen’s Day and New Year’s Day.
During Christmas week stores will have extended opening hours of 8am to 11pm.
On Christmas Eve, stores will open at 8am and shut early at 7pm.

Lidl will also close their stores nationwide on Christmas Day, St Stephen's Day and New Year’s Day.
During Christmas week their stores will be open from 8am until 10pm.
On Christmas Eve, they will close early at 6pm.

SuperValu
Supervalu branches are each run individually and will operate with varying opening hours during Christmas week.
Selected stores will open at 7am during the run-up to Christmas, with some opening hours extended until midnight.
On Christmas Eve, stores will generally open from 7am until 8pm and reopen on St Stephen's Day at 10am and close early at 6pm.
