Christmas selection boxes have hit the shelves in a Tesco store in Dublin, four months before the big day.
The boxes were spotted by Dublin Live in Tesco in the Jervis Shopping Centre amid reports from people on social media of selection box sightings across Dublin and Kildare. The festive treats might be favourites for December, but they have found their way into the late-August stock in plenty of time for the Christmas season.
Shoppers were left flabbergasted by the photos of the selection boxes, with some customers reporting that selection boxes have also started to appear in Aldi and Dunnes Stores across the capital. One person wrote: "Far too early."
A second person shared a photo of selection boxes from Tesco in Ballyfermot. A third was sympathetic, saying: "Four months away, some people have lots of people to buy for so I don’t see the problem really, better then leaving it last minute."
A fourth person noted that Aldi is also selling Quality Street boxes this week, with the shop clearing stocking up for the festive season. A fifth added: "People's finances are stretched with the cost of living they can spread the cost of Christmas, I think its great."
It comes after TKMAXX in Stephen's Green Shopping Centre started selling spooktacular Halloween decorations in July.
