Your employer doesn’t have to give you paid leave on bank or public holiday and it might affect how and when your benefits are paid, reports the ECHO. This year, the Christmas Day bank holiday will be observed on Tuesday December 27.

Similarly, the New Year's Day bank holiday will not be held on Sunday January 1, but rather Monday January 2. It's important to note Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are not bank holidays.
