When are the recycling centres open?
Household Recycling Centres will be closed between Christmas Day and December 27 for the Christmas Bank Holidays and will reopen on December 28. Household Recycling Centres will also close on January 2 for the New Year Bank Holiday, and will reopen on January 3.
They will also close earlier on Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve with the last available appointment at 1pm. As recycling centres can get busy over the Christmas period, the council recommended booking in advance, either on the Cardiff Gov app or here.
All material needs to be separated before visiting a recycling centre and no mixed black bags of waste will be accepted. Wrapping paper will be accepted at Recycling Centres over the Christmas period, but it must not be mixed with any other recyclable material.
