Christmas 2022: Are these this year’s weirdest advent calendars?

Countdown to Christmas with this rubber-duck advent calendar

Christmas is just weeks away, so children (and adults) across the UK will be counting down the days in the form of a traditional advent calendar.

But if you’re bored of tiny chocolates, teabags and beauty trinkets, buckle up.

In honour of the festival season, we scoured the internet to find the most unusual (and quite frankly bizarre) advent calendars.

Biros and highlighters for Christmas, anyone?

5. Novelty rubber ducks

With this calendar, you get to unwrap 24 of the little yellow guys-for only a fiver! They come accessorised to the max with minute hats, scarves, and sunglasses.

Although we may add that the thought of a bathtub lined with your new pals is actually a little bit haunting.

4. For legit witches

Witches can celebrate the festive season with a box of oddities (Curiosities Vanities)

After discovering that a taxidermy chessboard exists, and with the internet being… the internet, there surely must be something similar for the festive season?

Well, worry not, as Curiosities Vanities has your back! This small company specialises in handcrafted “beautiful one-of-a-kind skull and bone art”, and is offering a yuletide Mystery Box this Christmas.

Unwrap little vials with tiny bones and teeth in, wands of various sizes, and teeth necklaces... to name a few.

3. Red Bull

If you happen to be 14, or revising for your exams this Christmas, a Redbull calendar could be of interest.

Redbull got all our hopes up when they released a promotional video showing a calendar chock full of caffeinated cans.

Sadly, this is not available for general purchase, but maybe the clamouring on TikTok will get them to change their minds.

2. BIC

Get in the festive spirit with office supplies (BIC/Amazon)

Stationery gifts are usually confined to the bottom of stockings, a grim reminder of your life outside the holiday season.

This year, why not make them the centrepiece of your festive celebrations? For £20, reviews indicate you’re guaranteed at least two Biros and one glue stick!

1. Vaping Christmas boxset

This list wouldn’t be complete without reference to this mythical Christmas offering.

Last year, it was alleged that the vape brand Elf Bar gave out vape advent calendars to various influencers as a PR stunt, causing a huge stir online.

Nothing could warm the heart (and lungs) more than unwrapping a fresh new vape every two days. Unfortunately, by all accounts, they don’t appear to have been very creative with the Christmas flavours.

If they do roll this bizarre offering out to the public we, personally, would love to see more creative Christmas flavours. Chesnuts-roasting-on-an-open-fire, anyone?
