Christine McGuinness has written a book to help children be comfortable about autism, inspired by her own experience.
Model and TV presenter Christine, 34, found out she had the condition last year – while making a BBC documentary about the challenges faced by her three children, who are all autistic.
Her book Amazing Me, Amazing You has “strong messages of kindness, friendship and accepting each other”.
Christine said: “I’m so excited and proud. “It’s a book about inclusivity for everybody and explains in a child-friendly way that everybody is different and that is something to celebrate.”
Her foray into childrens’ books follows last year’s autobiography, A Beautiful Nightmare, in which she spoke about her diagnosis at 33, after husband Paddy’s suspicions.
She and Top Gear host Paddy split in July after 11 years together, in the wake of rumours of him cheating.
Christine’s diagnosis came as she and Paddy made a film about the lives of twins Leo and Penelope, nine, and Felicity, six.
She wrote in her autobiography: “I’ve noticed little hints that I’m more like my children than I ever could have imagined.
"The way I float through life reminds me of how my eldest daughter Penelope is.”
Christine is not the first celebrity to venture into the £642million childrens’ books market.
David Walliams, Meghan Markle, McFly singer Tom Fletcher and wife Giovanna, and singer turned-presenter Rochelle Humes, have all done so.
■Amazing Me, Amazing You, illustrated by Hannah Jayne Lewin, is due to be published in March by Scholastic.
