Christine McGuinness says she keeps Paddy split secret from their kids amid family Christmas plans

Christmas is a time for families and Christine McGuinness is determined to create the perfect family time for her children as it was revealed that she is keeping her split from husband Paddy McGuinness as secret from her kids.

The pair, who share three children - nine-year-old twins Leo and Penelope, and six-year-old Felicity - announced that they had separated in the summer. According to a report in the Mirror, Christine Christine admitted the separation has been 'heartbreaking' and says she never expected her over a decade old marriage would end. The couple had been married for 11 years.

However, the McGuinness's co-parent together, and at the time of the split announcement said that they would "always be a loving family" and would still live "happily" in their family home together.

The publication says that Christine revealed she will be spending Christmas with Paddy as 'that's what their children are used to.' She said: "We don’t know what the future holds or how it’s going to be moving forward, but we’ll try to keep things as normal as possible".

Christine took to Instagram to post a video of her three children decorating their Christmas tree at the beginning of the month, calling them her 'inspirations'.

On her story she showed a photoshoot and cover of OK magazine which headlines with 'Christine McGuinness ...reveals why she is reuniting with Paddy this Christmas". It also shows a quote saying: 'The children don't know we've separated, they think we're happy... we're trying to put them first'.

Christine says it would be 'nice' for the children to see their parents 'being alright' and that she would never allow her children to see anything other than 'them being happy'.

When asked if the children are aware of the separation, she said to OK magazine!: "No, not at all, they’re so young. I’m trying to just stick to their normal routine."

"I’m quite happy for him to be there with the children and it’s nice for them to see Mummy and Daddy just being alright. We can sit and have a cup of tea together and that’s fine."
