Christine McGuinness smiled her way through as she told fans she was having a 'terrible time' with her Christmas shopping. The former model took to Instagram to chat with her hundreds of thousands of followers about what she described as a 'failure'.
She could be seen sat in her car with her sunglass atop her head with her blonde locks straight and flowing down past her shoulders. Christine, who shares three children with her ex-husband, Bolton-born comedian Paddy McGuinness, had been trying to finish off her Christmas shopping with just days to go until the big day.
"Absolute last attempt at Christmas shopping was such a massive failure," the 34-year-old said into the camera, while donning a grey coat and pink scarf.
She went on: "I've got back in the car with a headache, some chips. I did buy a bottle of water as well but I left it at the till," before candidly sharing: "It's just really a terrible time for me. I can't do shopping. I hate shopping anyway."
However, it appears Christine was looking for additional gifts, saying she had ordered things online that hadn't showed up as shoppers continued to face delays due to Royal Mail strikes and unprecedented demand with other delivery services.
But she added: "The kids are sorted, which is the most important thing. I'm happy about them, that's gorgeous, but I'm giving up. I'm not doing it. I've left with nothing but a headache. See that sunset over there, I'm gonna go and find that. That's just so much better. I'd rather look at the sunset than go shopping."
It comes after Christine opened up about her first Christmas since her split from Paddy. The Top Gear host and former Real Housewives of Cheshire star announced they had separated back in July following rumours their 11-year marriage had come to an end.
The former couple both recently shared sweet videos on Instagram of their nine-year-old twins Leo and Penelope, and daughter Felicity, six, helping to put up the Christmas tree in their stunning family home, which they still share as they co-parent their children, who have autism.
And Christine, who was diagnosed with autism herself last year, has told OK! Magazine that the family will be spending Christmas together as it is 'what the children are used to' and they're unaware of their parents' separation. She explained: "We don’t know what the future holds or how it’s going to be moving forward, but we’ll try to keep things as normal as possible.
"We’re amicable. I’m quite happy for him to be there with the children and it’s nice for them to see Mummy and Daddy just being alright. We can sit and have a cup of tea together and that’s fine. I would never let the children be aware of anything other than us being happy and alright, because they’re so young and innocent."
Christine also shared how she will cook her children chicken nuggets and chips for Christmas dinner 'if that's what they want'. She said: "I don’t think they should have to fit in with tradition or what everybody else has. I think your Christmas dinner should be whatever you’d like to eat and I want them to enjoy it. If they want chicken nuggets and chips, then that’s what I’m going to give them."
