Christine McGuinness left close to tears over message from mum after honest response to praise over autism

Christine McGuinness was left close to tears as she shared a message she received from a mum who also has a child with autism. The former model has been open about the fact that she and her three children, with ex-husband Paddy McGuinness, have all been diagnosed with the lifelong developmental disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world.

And last week, Christine gave her fans the first look at her very own children's book. The yellowy-gold cover featured Christine's name and a small picture of her with the title, Amazing Me, Amazing You.

"I can't believe this," Christine, 34, penned alongside the video of her holding up the children's book alongside a face holding back tears emoji and a red heart before adding a pre-order link as it's not actually available yet. She also opened the book to show the dedication on the first page.

It reads: "This book is dedicated to my three individual, amazing little superstars! Leo, Penelope and Felicity. All my love, Mummy xx." The book is described as "the perfect picture book celebrating all children with a message of kindness and friendship." It comes after Christine was diagnosed with autism after all three of her children were told they had the developmental disability caused by differences in the brain.

Soon after, she posted a message to her followers saying that she was heading straight back to work as she has a busy few weeks ahead. "But it's all dreams coming true... Forever grateful," she added.

Christine has since returned to social media over the weekend as she posted a video to her Instagram Story. She could be seen in her car as she spoke to the camera about a message she had received that had made her feel 'fuzzy' inside. Explaining what had happened, the mum-of-three said: "I wanted to share a really lovely story just to wish you all a happy Sunday and I hope this gives you some warm, fuzzy feelings inside like it did for me.

She went on to share: "It's World Book Day [this week] and you may have noticed I've got a children's book out on Thursday [March 2] and I've just had a parent contact me to say her autistic daughter does struggle with sensory issues and doesn't want to dress up, doesn't want to wear fancy dress and my children were exactly the same."

Christine said that her three kids - twins Leo and Penelope and youngest child Felicity - will now wear certain, simpler outfits on the annual day before adding: "But sometimes, some autistic children, seeing people dressed up as characters can be quite confusing for them, the fabrics of the clothes can be irritating for them, so she's asked if she can get hold of my book in time for World Book Day, before it comes out, so that her daughter can go as herself."

She added: "And that is why I wrote the book. Everybody should just be able to be themselves... I'm going to cry! So I'm at the post office now, I'm going to post an early copy of my book to this little girl so she can go to school on World Book Day, dressed as herself.

"She's got a book to represent herself and she's going to go in as happy, as comfortable, as calm and I know for that mum, this will be huge. That will make that mum's day better and more importantly, that little girl is going to go in happy and that's just gorgeous. I'm very, very proud - and totes emosh!"

Christine then returned to Instagram as she headed out to try on some fancy gowns. The former Real Housewives of Cheshire star browsed the dresses and gowns at Cinders Party Dress before showing off her enviable figure in a bedazzled, yellow floor-length gown.

It comes after she responded to praise over how she handles her own autism diagnosis. As mentioned, Christine shared last week how she had been super busy with work. In response, one of her followers said: "I don’t know how manage to keep up with all of this being on the spectrum but congratulations, what an amazing job!"

Giving an honest response, Christine wrote back: "With a very close but amazing support system, lots of reminders, time out when I need it, and the occasional meltdown thrown in [crying laughing emoji]. Thank you."
