Christine McGuinness hints she's ready to 'slowly' move on from living with ex Paddy

Christine McGuinness and her ex Paddy are 'absolutely fine' with living in the same house despite splitting up last year, but Christine admits things will change in the future.

In July last year, following a family trip, which was understood to be a 'make or break' holiday for the pair, the couple revealed they had broken up for some time.

The former couple shares children Penelope, Felicity and Leo and the two have continued to live in the same house for the sake of their children - who have all been diagnosed with autism.

During her appearance on Jeremy Vine on Channel 5 this week, she was asked about the former couple's unique living arrangements.

"You know what, it's been absolutely fine," the 35-year-old told host Jeremy. "I don't know any different than to live with him. I can't remember not living with him.

Christine says the current living arrangements isn't the 'long term plan' (Channel 5)

"I've been with him since I was 19 years old and we just want to do what's best for our children. It's certainly not a long-term plan."

She continued: "But for right now, we don't feel like anything needs to change for me and my children. I think slow changes are better and it works well. We're both in and out of the house quite often with work.

"We've got busy schedules so it doesn't make sense for us to rush into separate houses anytime soon. For as long as the kids are happy, we're happy."

Almost nine months on since their shock separation announcement, Paddy, 49, opened up for the first time about battling a bout of homesickness.

The Top Gear host discussed his aversion to being away from his family, as he continues to live with his estranged partner and their three kids.

"I've always had a sort of rule that I stick by where I never do more than nine days anywhere because I just like being at home," Paddy revealed.

Paddy recently talked about being homesick (mrsmcguinness/Instagram)

"I think naturally you get homesick," he added to The Sun.

When he's travelling, he makes sure to have his phone close by so he can easily contact his children.

Meanwhile, Christine recently said she's 'comfortable' with their living situation and "embraces our family the way we are."
