Christine McGuinness' breakthrough with her three kids in costumes for World Book Day

Christine McGuinness has shared her euphoria as her three children happily dressed up for World Book Day - after years of refusing costumes.

The model is mum to three kids - eight year-old twins Leo and Penelope, and five year-old Felicity.

All three of her children have autism, and Christine has spoken openly about the difficulties they face as a family.

Now the former Real Housewives of Cheshire star has shared her joy as her children are now old enough to accept costumes with some minor unseen adjustments to ensure they are comfy in their chosen characters' costume.

She penned in her post: "My heart just smiled. This morning I have a very happy ‘Jessie’ from toy story, a beautiful ‘Snow white’ and fabulous ‘Super Mario’ for #WorldBookDay.

The wife of actor and comedian Paddy, opened up to followers sharing the past struggles which proved too much for her young children who were upset by the annual celebration of children's fiction.

She added: "I remember when my children would never dress up because the costumes where too itchy, (I still have to put soft layers underneath) but they wouldn’t even touch the fabric!
"And just seeing other children wearing costumes would totally confuse and upset them.
"Now they understand, we prepare and they enjoy World book day."
She signed off the post with the #proudmummy.
