Christine McGuinness has given a further insight into her marriage troubles with Paddy McGuinness in a new TV interview.
The TV couple have been married for 11 years, in a relationship for 15 years and share their three children who have autism.
Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine on Tuesday, the 34-year-old model was asked how she and the TV presenter were doing after revealing last week they were working through “a very, very difficult time”.
Speaking candidly to Carol Vorderman who is currently covering for Lorraine Kelly while she recovers from Covid, Mrs McGuinness said: “I think marriages just go through ups and downs anyway.
“I think all marriages - especially long ones like ours - it’s not always going to be plain sailing but we’re trying to deal with things as privately as possible.”
Mrs McGuinness - who was appearing on the show to promote her updated memoir Beautiful Nightmare - said their focus is their three children and revealed they will soon be heading off on a make-or-break holiday together.
She said: “We just want to be there to support the children and have an amazing summer. We’re going away on a family holiday next week and we’re really excited. They’re always going to be our focus.”
Speculation their marriage has been on the rocks has been rife for weeks.
The couple have spent time apart recently, with Mrs McGuinness jetting off on a girls’ holiday while her husband was filming Top Gear in Thailand.
Speaking to The Sun recently, she said: “I can’t lie we’re having a very, very difficult time.
“It’s just - we’ve been together 15 years, 11 years married: we are gonna have ups and downs - but this situation at the minute - I don’t want to go into it too much but I will just say that I didn’t cause this situation.”
