Christine McGuinness and Paddy separate after three kids and 15 years together

Christine McGuinness and Take Me Out host Paddy have announced their split on Friday.

It comes after intense speculation the couple’s romance was on the rocks in recent weeks.

The TV stars have three children, who have autism, and they have been together for 15 years - 11 of which they were married.

However, it wasn’t meant to be as the couple revealed they had made the “difficult decision” to separate.

They wrote in a joint statement: “We hadn’t planned on sharing this publicly until we were ready but the lack of privacy surrounding our personal life, we feel left with no other option but to clarify.

“A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus was as always is to continue loving and supporting our children.

“This was not an easy decision to make but we’re moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children.

“We’ll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.”

The pair had just returned from a family holiday at Centre Parcs in Sherwood Forest, which had been billed as a “make or break” trip.

They had intially planned to go to Spain but had to cancel as their youngest daughter’s passport had expired.

Looking after their twins Penelope, and Leo, eight, and daughter Felicity, six, remains their priority.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire star shared the joint statement on her Instagram with her 666k followers.

It read: “We hope this now draws a line under anymore unwanted and unnecessary intrusion into our private life.

“Although we work in the public eye we ask kindly if you could respect our wishes for privacy on this matter. We’ll be making no further comment.

“Loads of love. Paddy & Christine.”

Their love story stretches back 15 years to when they first set eyes on each other.

Sparks flew when they first met in 2007 when Mrs McGuinness was modelling at the Liverpool Tennis Tournament.

They exchanged their wedding vows in 2011.

Their split comes soon after their BBC documentary Our Family and Autism which gave a glimpse into their lives as parents, bringing up their children who have the condition.
