Christine Lampard on 'distance' in relationship with husband Frank due to work

Christine Lampard has opened up on 'distance' in her relationship with husband Frank due to work commitments.

Speaking on Loose Women on Wednesday in a chat about whether people should move with their partners for work, the TV personality spoke on having to move quite a bit.

Earlier this year, Frank signed a deal to manage Everton football club and spends time in Liverpool for work. This means the couple are at times based in different parts of the country.

Co-panellist Jane said: "When you marry a footballer, you know that there is every chance that they are going to get moved around."

The Newtownards woman replied: "I have weirdly kind of not known anything else.

"When he did play, we were obviously in London together and he was at Chelsea, but he would be away say two nights of the week at least.

"And then he would go away for chunks with the World Cup, he'd be away for six weeks and things like that but then once all that started to shift, we have been in London, we've spent a year in Manchester, two years in New York, a year in Derby and now he is in Liverpool."

Christine continued: "So there has always been some form of distance and I have become very good at making a rented home, like a home really quite quickly...

"That is the crucial part of it, I think once the children are in school and if they are settled, it's a huge upheaval to lift an entire family and to have to potentially move every year, which lots of people do if they're in the army.. There are all sorts of jobs that involve that, and certainly football comes into it a little bit, but that is where I am still lucky.

"I have one more year before my little girl starts school because then the landscape changes entirely."

Christine and Frank have been married since 2015 and have two children together, Patricia (3) and Freddie (1). Frank also has two teenage daughters, Luna and Isla, with ex-wife Elen Rivas.
