Christina Ricci confesses eight-year-old son still sleeps in same bed as her

Christina Ricci has confessed her eight-year-old son Freddie still sleeps in her bed.

However, she revealed her nine-month-old daughter Cleopatra is already sleep trained. The actress, 42, opened up to People about her sleeping routine, saying it was "amazing" how quickly her youngest has took to her own bed.

She said: "The fact that I can put her down in her crib and she just goes to sleep when my eight-year-old still sleeps with me is amazing."

She confessed that her first attempt to sleep train Freddie was a nightmare, explaining how he would scream himself hoarse while "banging his head against the crib railing".

Christina continued: "But with Cleo, when we decided to try it and see how she would react to it, she just sort of whined for about seven minutes and then laid down, clutched her little unicorn and went to sleep. It was like she was ready and she wanted to do it, and it was right for her."

Christina shares son Freddie with her ex-husband James Heerdegen and daughter Cleopatra with her current husband Mark Hampton.

Her comments are the latest in a line of stars admitting their children still sleep with them. Recently, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard revealed that their two daughters Lincoln, 9, and Delta, 7, had "graduated" from sleeping on a "trifold mattress" on their bedroom floor in July.

And Clueless actress Alicia Silverstone also went viral after comments confirming her 11-year-old son, Bear, still sleeps with her.

However, she bluntly told critics on The Ellen Fisher Podcast in July: "I don’t really care."

The star shares the youngster with her ex-husband Christopher Jarecki and joked that she would “get in trouble for” her comment.

She also admitted that, while he still sleeps with her, it took minimal effort to potty train him as tot. She continued :"

She had also previously opened up about how the pair still bathed together during the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2020, when Bear was nine years old, Alicia told the New York Times: "My son and I take baths together, and when he’s not with me, I take a bath and that really feels nourishing and comforting."
