Christina Hendricks and husband Geoffrey Arend have split after 10 years of marriage.
On Thursday, the former Mad Men actor and Madam Secretary star announced the news of their separation on Instagram with a joint statement.
The couple revealed that while they felt “blessed” to have been partners for the last decade, they would now be taking “different paths” in life.
“Twelve years ago we fell in love and became partners,” the statement read.
"We joined our two amazing families, had countless laughs, made wonderful friends and were blessed with incredible opportunities."
The post continued: “Today we take our next step together, but on separate paths. We will always be grateful for the love we’ve shared and will always work together to raise our two beautiful dogs.
“We will be taking time to rediscover ourselves in this transition and we thank you for your patience and support in giving us the space to do so.”
Hendricks was recently spotted without her wedding ring at the 10th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles earlier this month.
The couple was first introduced by Hendricks’ Mad Men co-star Vincent Kartheiser and tied the knot on 11 Oct 2009 in New York.
A day before confirming the split, Hendricks shared a throwback Halloween photo of the pair.
“My proudest costume moment to date…Ladies and Gentlemen, Nosferatu and wolf man. I did all this makeup myself including the bald cap!” she wrote.
The couple did not have children during their marriage and Hendricks once recalled how she was praised for being honest about her lack of desire to become a mother.
“There were a lot of people who came and thanked me for saying it out loud, and I thought, 'Well, isn't it sad, that we can't say it out loud?'” she told The Times in 2014.
"I really don't understand the hullaballoo around it. There are people who have kids and people who don't have kids. We're the people who don't have kids."
