Christie Brinkley's ex-husband Peter Cook recently announced his engagement to 21-year-old college student Alba Jancou, who is the same age as her soon to be step-daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook.
Cook, 60, was first spotted with his wife-to-be over the summer in the Hamptons. At the time, her LinkedIn was public and detailed she would be graduating from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2021. Before Tulane, she attended the Millfield public school in England.
The architect and real estate agent proposed while they were on vacation in Santorini, Greece. They share the same 39 year age difference as actor Dennis Quaid, 65, and his fiancée Laura Savoie, 26, who also recently got engaged on holiday.
Cook announced their engagement on Instagram with a picture of them toasting with Champagne glasses.
One commenter wrote, "Your proposal toast is ALSO your fiancées first legal drink!"
Not all of the comments were negative. One person wrote, "Gorgeous ring!" It's a six-carat diamond ring created by jewelry designer Glenn Bradford.
The couple is said to have met in the Hamptons. A source told Page Six, "They originally met two years ago at Le Bilboquet, but didn’t start dating until a year ago. They are planning a destination wedding in Europe.” If they did meet two years ago, she would have still been a teen at the time. It's unclear if the wedding is planned for after she graduates. Cook split with supermodel Brinkley in 2008.
His daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, is also 21. She was recently eliminated from Dancing With the Stars.
He adopted son Jack Brinkley Cook, 24, when he married Christie Brinkley in 1996. In 1996, Alba Jancou was not born yet. Jack is currently dating model Nina Agdal, 27.
