Christian Ramirez loses No 9 shirt to Bojan Miovski and Aberdeen fans fear transfer exit is next

Aberdeen fans are fearing for the future of Christian Ramirez after it emerged Bojan Miovski has nabbed his number nine shirt. American star Ramirez became the Dons' main talisman last season but suffered from loss of form by the time of the Scottish Premiership split and was given an early summer break to 'recharge his batteries'.

Miovski joined the Pittodrie club from MTK Budapest earlier this summer. However a visa issue meant he has had to wait to make his debut for Jim Goodwin's side but punters will hope the North Macedonia international is worth it as he leads the line against Raith Rovers on Sunday.

Many of the Red Army had expected USA international Ramirez to move on with a switch back to the MLS rumoured however he returned for pre-season and has since been in prolific form. He will now wear No.99. Aberdeen have also signed Luis 'Duk' Lopes from Benfica who adds options up front along with Marley Watkins.

Goodwin has been stamping his authority in the Granite City with 14 outgoings and seven signings coming in. The former St Mirren boss has also changed things up behind the scenes as well as promoting youth stars Ryan Duncan, Mason Hancock and Jack Milne. Senior players such as Scott Brown, Lewis Ferguson, Declan Gallagher and Jay Emmanuel Thomas have all moved on.

On the topic of Miovski taking Ramirez's number, one fan said: "Whoaaaa Bojan, straight took number 9??

And another added: 'Guess that's Ramirez officially out the door if Miovski is number 9.'

While the surprise continued: 'Ooft, there goes the no9 shirt!
