Christian Pulisic is one of many Chelsea players expected to be allowed to leave at the end of the season. The Blues will be forced to trim their squad for the 2023/24 season after spending over £600 million on new signings in the last year.
The USMNT star has barely featured for the west Londoners this season due to injuries and form. Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke's January arrivals pushed Pulisic further down the pecking order, with him starting only ten games across all competitions.
There are currently over 30 senior players at Stamford Bridge. Yet, that is only one reason why Pulisic is likely to join Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek out the door at the end of the season.

Owner Todd Boehly will have to raise significant funds through player sales this summer to ensure the club avoids breaking Premier League financial fair play rules after Chelsea reported substantial losses for the second successive season.
The club reported a £121m loss last season, following on from further losses of £153.4m for 2020/21. The concerning decrease in profits, coupled with a drop in prize money due to performances on the pitch, means they face breaching the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules for this year.
The rules allow for maximum losses of £105m over a rolling three-year period, leaving Boehly with tough decisions to make regarding the futures of a number of players to balance the books.
However, as this season's financial accounts are recorded up until June 30, the deals must be concluded before then to ensure the income is included in this year's results.
With so many exits on the cards, the club face a race against time to get as many done before the end of June.
Pulisic's contract in SW6 expires next June, meaning Chelsea run the risk of losing an asset they paid over £50m for for nothing. With interest circling around the United States star, sanctioning a deal for him may have to be done sooner rather than later.
