Christian Pulisic has revealed how Chelsea signing Timo Werner has excited Frank Lampard’s squad after victory over Aston Villa.
The Blues confirmed the arrival of the German forward from RB Leipzig this week in a deal worth £49 million.
And the American made an impact off the bench to equalise against Aston Villa before Olivier Giroud’s winner ensured a winning return in the race for a Champions League spot.
The 21-year-old admitted the news of Werner's arrival this summer has excited the Blues.
“Yes, I think so,” Pulisic told Sky Sports when asked whether the signing of Werner demonstrated there are exciting times ahead at Chelsea.

“We’re a very strong team with very strong players, to add him to that, it’s exciting for what’s to come.”
After failing to appear since 1 January against Brighton, Pulisic was also thrilled to return from injury.
“I’ve been out for a while, it felt nice to be back out there,” Pulisic added. “All of us have been off, now we have to get back to winning things.
“I’m really glad I could come on and help the team in any way I could. Just to go in and help us win he game. Use my talents to see what I could do.
“I don’t think I hit it perfectly, but I’m happy it went in.”
