Christian Pulisic makes 'incredible' Mohamed Salah claim as Liverpool final assessed

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has admitted there is plenty he can 'learn' from Mohamed Salah as he prepares to face off against the Liverpool forward in Sunday's Carabao Cup final.

Pulisic has been a regular starter for Thomas Tuchel's side in recent weeks and scored in the Londoners' Champions League win over Lille on Wednesday evening.

Once linked with a move to Anfield a number of years ago while still a Borussia Dortmund player, the Reds missed out on the signing of the American star to Chelsea but have a number of high-quality options in this area of the pitch these days.

Pulisic still has plenty of time to develop at 23 years of age as he aspires to reach the levels set by leading Premier League goalscorer, Salah.

"He is an incredible player," he told ESPN.

"As far as the Premier League goes this season, he has generally been up there with the best.

"There's definitely a lot to look up to and I can learn from him. He's a great goal-scorer, really strong, he does a lot of things well that people don't even realise to get him into position to score these goals. He's someone I can learn from."

Jurgen Klopp's side are favourites to come out on top when the sides meet on Sunday afternoon and head into this Wembley fixture high on confidence.

Although aware that Chelsea are the underdogs, Pulisic has pointed to the fact that 'the best football-playing team' doesn't always prevail as winners.

"The players Liverpool have and the style they play, they make things very difficult for you," he said.

"They are a high-pressure team, they have a lot of physical, fast players and are dangerous up front. They have a lot of good players so it is always a tough team and a good coach.

"We've played in finals before. We've won and lost them but it's about getting in the mindset and being ready to fight because in a final, that's what they're for. It's up for grabs, maybe not always the best football-playing team is going to win."
