Christian Pulisic gives Marina Granovskaia more reasons for potential Chelsea summer exit

The questions around the summer transfer window revolve around who Chelsea will let go of to bring in fresh legs.

Rumours have been circulating around that we could see a possible departure of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Romelu Lukaku, and more. It's a difficult decision to make. However, it is clear that the attackers are the least happy in the squad.

Whilst it's clear that Chelsea needs fresh new ideas, how do we determine the attacker who needs to make way? It most likely will not be Marina Granovskaia's £97m investment, Romelu Lukaku. So who do we look at next? Stats reveal some interesting findings.

We've often seen our defenders bail the Blues out of tricky situations — the most recent being in Chelsea's FA Cup fourth-round clash against Plymouth. Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso were tasked to help the team move forward into the next round.

Even though Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount, Ziyech and Lukaku were all on the pitch, none of them made the impact needed.

Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz and Lukaku provide the least creative threat in the team. With that being said, these results may give Granovskaia an easy decision to make when considering those who have a future at Chelsea. By process of elimination, Pulisic is the player who may see his exit this summer.

By the looks of it, Chelsea needs a specific type of attacker in place of Pulisic for better goal-scoring opportunities. The American is not quite up there with Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi on the creative element, which could probably be his slight downfall. A creative edge such as that of Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix or, dare I say, Ousmane Dembele would be key to this. That’s the kind of profile Granovskaia and Thomas Tuchel should be looking for.

A new creative outlet should be on the menu and served in full by the end of the summer transfer window, please and thank you. With Chelsea’s “sell to buy” business model, it’ll most likely happen by process of elimination for the Blues. And Pulisic could be first up.

His reoccurring injuries have come at a cost with his creative output and form taking a hit.

Though I would love to see our Captain America fight with the Chelsea avengers for another season, the inconsistencies prevent game time. It may serve him better to make a move to a club that will use him more often than we do right now. The search to find the key to a creative attack is significant in the grand scheme of things.

Without creativity, there will be a lack of goals. Havertz and Lukaku are, of course, lacking in their primary goal-scoring role. However, considering their hefty price tags, it's more than unlikely that they will find their exit this summer.
