Christian Pulisic bombarded as transfer theory emerges amid Newcastle and Man United 'approach'

Christian Pulisic's four-year stay at Chelsea appears to be coming to an end this summer. The USMNT forward has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge for over a year now after failing to consistently perform for the Blues.

Last year, Manchester United and AC Milan were both said to be keen on the 24-year-old but the move never materialised. After another season of failing to break into the Blues' team, Pulisic is now expected to leave the club.

Italian sides AC Milan, Inter Milan and Napoli are all said to want the United States international, with Premier League rivals Newcastle and West Ham also reportedly interested.

"It's absolutely a time where I need to figure out what's going to be best for my future and be somewhere where I can go and play and be trusted and feel good in what I'm doing," he said earlier this month. "I want to find that joy at club level again, for sure."

And that joy could be found in France with Lyon. According to L'Equipe, the Ligue 1 side's American owners - Eagle Football Group - have contacted the Chelsea star over a potential move.

John Textor, Lyon's owner, has identified Pulisic at the top of his summer list with it being likely his reputation in the USA will be a driving force in the move. The same outlet suggests that the former Borussia Dortmund star hasn't shown any reluctance to the idea of moving to the Parc Olympique Lyonnais

If Pulisic did need any convincing that a move to Lyon was the right one, supporters have made their feelings crystal clear on social media. Fans bombarded an Instagram post from PumaFootball calling for the winger to move to France.

"CAPTAIN AMERICA IN LYON," is what one fan wrote while one account commented: "COME TO LYON KING." There were also a number of Lyon-based GIFS, with over 4,500 comments on the post of Pulisic.
