Friday marks the final day of group games at the World Cup where four more nations will book their place in the last 16, whilst the other four are sent to the departure lounge.
Chelsea's players have naturally encountered mixed fortunes in the middle east, but the majority of those within Graham Potter's squad will remain in Qatar for at least the next round.
Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling. Conor Gallagher, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Mateo Kovacic and Thiago Silva have all made it through, with Denis Zakaria the last to find out his fate. Kai Havertz is the only current Chelsea player to be eliminated so far.

With that in mind, it felt an appropriate point at the halfway stage to take note and reflect on those who have used this international break to regain some much-needed confidence, whilst others have continued on a similar path.
Here are football.london's Chelsea winners and losers from the World Cup so far.
Winner – Hakim Ziyech
It feels like the winger who has mainly become an afterthought at Chelsea is the biggest winner so far, scoring a big goal against Canada to secure Morocco's qualification from Group F, also setting up the second in a shock win over Belgium last Sunday.
Ziyech's Chelsea future looks to be short given the links surrounding an exit in January, but the past few weeks has allowed the 29-year-old to find some rhythm again and show his quality.
Loser – Conor Gallagher
Not playing a minute of football so far for England, Conor Gallagher is tied with Zakaria for the Chelsea player yet to get on the pitch for their nation.
Going to the World Cup with England is a big step for Gallagher, no doubt. But given the number of subs available to Gareth Southgate, the 22-year-old probably would have hope for more.
Winner – Christian Pulisic
Like Ziyech, Pulisic has used the World Cup as an opportunity to put the rest some of the frustrations felt at Stamford Bridge.
Playing every game and used in his favoured left-wing role, Pulisic is trusted at the international level and is clearly enjoying that role.
His huge goal against Iran showcased his anticipation inside the box and secured a vital three points for the USA.
Loser – Kai Havertz
This feels like a conflicting one given his huge contribution to Germany's dramatic 4-2 win over Costa Rica from the bench.
The goals scored from the bench were impressive, proving again Havertz's knack for important moments. But going home at the group stage is a failure for Germany, one that ends Havertz's chances of making a firmer impression on this tournament.
Graham Potter will be pleased he did not play every game for Hansi Flick, giving him a chance to rest before returning to Chelsea.
Winner – Kalidou Koulibaly
The Senegal defender is another Chelsea face to net a decisive goal in the final group game, his smart finish sealing a 2-1 win over Ecuador which sets up a last-16 clash with England on Sunday night.
Koulibaly has faced criticism since his £34million move from Napoli in the summer, doubting his ability to adapt to the Premier League at a later stage of his career.
A huge goal and some impressive displays in front of Mendy have reminded people of his defensive talent.
