The San Francisco 49ers — and fantasy football team owners — will be without Christian McCaffrey on Sunday when the NFC West champs play the Minnesota Vikings.

McCaffrey missed the season-opening win against the Jets on Monday night as a late scratch.
He has been battling a calf injury and Achilles tendinitis.
There is the possibility the star RB could head to IR, which would cause him to miss at least four more games, said coach Kyle Shanahan.
“It’s something we’re considering now,” Shanahan said. “Yesterday was his worst day. It’s on and off, but with yesterday having the most pain. It’s something we’re going to be discussing together in the next 24 hours.”
Jordan Mason will get the bulk of the carries for the 49ers. The backup had a career-game against the Jets with 147 rushing yards.
