All signs point toward 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey playing against the Vikings on Monday Night Football despite being listed as questionable with an oblique injury, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. McCaffrey returned to practice Saturday where he said he felt “great.”
The tailback suffered the injury against the Browns last Sunday and was seen on the sideline stretching in an attempt to return to the field afterward. He eventually returned to the locker room and was ruled out before his team lost 19–17. He did, however, score a touchdown before the injury to extend his scoring streak to 15 games.
So far this season, McCaffrey has been the best player at his position. He leads all players in rushing yards (553) and has nine touchdowns from scrimmage through his first six games of the year. He’ll look to continue his dominance Monday night against Minnesota.
Kick off at U.S. Bank Stadium is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET on both ESPN and ABC.
